BioCHARACTER
NAME: Xemnas
FANDOM: Kingdom Hearts
CANON SYNOPSIS: Xemnas is the Nobody of a being named Xehanort, who took the name of his mentor, Ansem, before he lost his heart to the darkness and science. His main goal is to collect the hearts that Sora’s keyblade releases. Most of the Organization is in to create Kingdom Hearts, believing this is the way to restoring the Organization members’ hearts. Their Superior appears to be in it for the power he believes to stem from nothingness. Xemnas’ first appearance is in Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix, where he encounters Sora, Donald, and Goofy in Hollow Bastion. Later, they meet again in Hollow Bastion, where Xemnas taunts Sora before heading back to the castle to keep tabs on Sora’s progress while his members do the guiding for the keyblade master. Xemnas’ next appearance is again at Hollow Bastion, this time near the ravine, where King Mickey is prompted to remember who Xemnas’ Other was. After a small chase and more vague answers from the Nobody, he disappears again.
He’s next seen in his domain, the World That Never Was, asking Kingdom Hearts for its power and giving the allowance to Saïx to end the game and kill Sora. This, of course, doesn’t come to pass and all of the Organization members except for Xemnas fall. The Superior then meets up with his one-time mentor and they speak about their different plans regarding hearts and how they both claimed to understand the heart. Xemnas laments the damage Kingdom Hearts suffers when Ansem’s machine explodes and rips a giant hole in it. Xemnas and the keybearers debate the differences between darkness and light before Xemnas takes Sora to fight in front of Memory’s Skyscraper. After Sora is returned to the World That Never Was, Xemnas is absorbed into Kingdom Hearts, turning the middle of it into a fortress, where he resides, planning to rebuild the moon-like entity. He separates King Mickey and Kairi from the others and is eventually defeated by them.
They think this is the last they will see of him, but he surprises them after Naminè opens a portal back to Destiny Islands. A disturbance as Riku and Sora are about to enter the portal causes them to be left behind and they are forced to face Xemnas again, alone. The Superior of the Organization XIII is defeated for the last time here and he fades back into the darkness.
Psychology Xemnas is used to being a leader and definitely acts and appears like he knows what he's doing and exactly how to get his way. He's not used to being disobeyed or even questioned, so when someone does so, they're usually stuck right back in their place reaaallly quickly. Xemnas is calculating and careful. He likes to pontificate and will do so if given half the chance. It's kind of unfortunate for whoever's stuck listening to him because he doesn't like being interrupted either. His obsession lies with something called Kingdom Hearts, but as he has yet to find this thing in Circadia, no one really knows what the heck it is and he's not telling. Deep inside him, he really is here to help his subordinates, though getting him to admit as much will most likely result in sudden death.
ONORATA-VERSE BACKGROUND: Xemnas was born to a German father and a gypsy mother. His unique hair, eye, and skin color combination always drew stares wherever he went. Rather than taking this as an embarrassment, Xemnas drew on it as strength and used the extra attention to his advantage. He gained quick fame for being a soldier from the start and even though he was never good at following orders, he was exceptionally good at giving them and making sure they were carried out. One never quite knew his methods for this, but most people who knew him wouldn’t dream of double-crossing him. They knew better than that.
A few years into his military career, he was used in a genetic experiment. The result was an ability that allows him to shoot vine-like spikes from his hands. These black and white vines have the tendency to shred anything they come in contact with literally to pieces and he uses them to great persuading effect.
After the experimentation was complete, Xemnas decided to leave Germany behind and headed to Italy, where he managed to work his way up the ranks of the AMC. He now resides as an Officer for the AMC.
